Plymouth: A burglar named Dean Lennox has been sentenced for breaking into a home while the occupants were asleep. This happened back in October 2024, and it’s quite a story.

So, here’s the deal. Lennox snuck into a family’s bedroom in Peverell and took a bunch of stuff, including car keys, a laptop, and some bank cards. The poor victim had no idea until they woke up to find their things missing.

To make matters worse, Lennox also stole the victim’s Citroen car parked nearby. The police got involved and tracked the stolen bank cards, which were used about 20 times before the banks shut them down.

Eventually, they caught up with Lennox. They found the stolen car close to his place and arrested him. He faced multiple charges, including fraud and burglary.

In court, Lennox’s lawyer tried to paint him in a better light, saying he wasn’t violent but had a long history of offenses due to substance abuse. The judge, however, wasn’t too lenient. He acknowledged Lennox’s admissions during the police interview and noted that this was a spur-of-the-moment crime driven by his addiction.

In the end, the judge sentenced him to 30 months in prison, with a chance of early release after serving 40 percent of that time. He also had to pay a victim surcharge. The judge wrapped it up by hoping this wouldn’t turn into a “revolving door” situation for Lennox.
