Coventry: So, guess what? The Barracks car park in Coventry city centre is shutting down for good. The council just announced that it’ll close on January 31. If you usually park there, you’ve got a couple of weeks left to use it.

This car park has 460 spaces, but it’s going to be demolished to make way for the City Centre South project. They’re planning to build new shops, homes, bars, and restaurants in that area, which sounds pretty exciting!

Now, I know some folks might be worried about where to park. The council has already shared some nearby options. You can check out Salt Lane, Lower Precinct, or New Union Street for parking instead.

Oh, and by the way, Whitefriars Street car park is back open after being closed since January 2021. That closure was due to too many empty spaces during the pandemic, which made it financially tough to keep it running.
