A Coventry charity has made a significant impact, helping over 6,800 individuals in clothing poverty throughout 2024
Coventry: A local charity has been doing some amazing work. Clothing Coventry, located on Napier Street, has helped over 6,800 people in 2024 alone. They focus on providing second-hand clothes and shoes to those in need.
Each month, they support around 300 to 400 people by offering clothing parcels through community clothing rails. They also run special projects for school uniforms, prom outfits, toiletries, and even Christmas gifts for families who are struggling.
Most of their clothing parcels come from referrals, including health visitors and food banks, as well as self-referrals. They shared on Facebook that they distributed nearly 3,500 school uniforms and over 12,000 items from their community rails. In total, they’ve helped thousands of children and adults this year.
The team at Coventry Clothing emphasizes that they never judge anyone who comes to them for help. Looking ahead to 2025, they plan to continue offering free clothes, shoes, and school uniforms to anyone in need.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, they thanked everyone who has donated. They highlighted how these contributions have made a real difference, providing warm clothes for children and helping homeless individuals stay warm during winter.
They also expressed gratitude to their dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to sort and distribute donations, no matter the weather. The community support has been incredible, and they appreciate every bit of help they’ve received throughout 2024.
