A court hearing for Timothy Tinson, accused of murder, took place without him present after a serious incident in Beverley
Beverley: So, there’s been a court hearing for this guy, Timothy Tinson, who’s accused of murdering a man named Matthew Phillips. This all happened after a serious assault in Beverley.
Now, Tinson was supposed to show up in court, but he didn’t. He’s been in custody, and they didn’t bring him to Hull Crown Court for the hearing. It’s the second time this case has been listed in just two days.
The incident went down early on January 4. Police got a call around 1am about a man being seriously hurt in Lairgate, close to Saturday Market. When emergency services arrived, they found Mr. Phillips and rushed him to the hospital, but sadly, he didn’t make it.
During the hearing, the prosecutor shared some details about the case and what’s next. Tinson’s lawyer mentioned they might need to get some reports on him. But there was no plea entered yet.
They decided to keep Tinson in custody, and another hearing is set for March. They’re looking at a possible trial date in August, probably at Grimsby Crown Court, and it might take about five days.
Interestingly, no family members of Mr. Phillips were in court, but a couple of Tinson’s supporters were there. Tinson had already been remanded in custody after a previous hearing at Hull Magistrates’ Court.
