Siobhan and Stephen, from Essex, found a day trip to Pisa cheaper than London due to high costs, enjoying Italian sights and warmth.
They returned from Italy at 10:15 pm that same night. The Ryanair flight cost them £30 each, round trip, and they only took one small bag as carry-on luggage. Siobhan and Stephen spent about £80 while in Pisa, while a train to London costs £40 each, one way.
They thought a London day trip would cost around £300. Siobhan, from Little Canfield, Essex, used to live in London in Camden. They moved due to London’s high expenses and rarely visit because of the cost.
Siobhan said that a single drink costs £14 there now and a burger and chips recently cost £25 each. Siobhan and Stephen are employed; she works in security and he is a vehicle inspector. They took a £12 taxi into central Pisa and enjoyed exploring the city for twelve hours.
Their lunch, a charcuterie board, cost £26 and included two drinks. They also bought hot drinks for £7 total, and two non-alcoholic beers cost them £6. Chocolate totaled £12, and souvenirs cost £5.
Siobhan explained she always wanted to see Pisa and wanted to do it very affordably. They enjoyed sitting in the warm sun there, watching people passing by and relaxing. They took typical tourist photos at the tower.
Siobhan said the cathedral was free to enter. They then walked through Pisa’s alleys and shops and their lunch included Italian meats and Coke products. They found nice alleys and great Italian food, and these places off the main streets offered better prices.
She felt happy to return home that same night, though they both felt very tired from their travel day. Loving this trip, Siobhan is planning more to Rome and Barcelona in the coming months.
Siobhan has even taken two-week European trips to Lapland, Berlin, and Gdansk. She says you can find great flight deals and easily visit Europe for only a day; it is a fun way to see different places.
