A County Durham mother is fighting for justice after her son died in Spain, raising concerns about foul play and police inaction.
Mojacar: A County Durham mum is determined to find justice for her son. Sandra Adams believes her son, Brett Dryden, was murdered in Spain.
Brett was found dead in his flat with a serious head injury. He lived in Mojacar on the Costa Almeria. His belongings, including cash and a phone, were missing.
Initially, a post-mortem said he died from a blood clot. But Sandra thinks there’s more to the story. She hasn’t heard from Spanish police in six months.
After visiting Spain, Sandra and her husband learned about possible foul play. Neighbors mentioned seeing three men running from Brett’s home the night he died.
She also received a strange call from Brett’s phone hours after his death. The phone was tracked moving around Spain, raising more questions.
Sandra reported the CCTV footage to the police. They told her to step back and let them handle it. This frustrated her, as she felt they weren’t taking her concerns seriously.
Brett had lived in Mojacar for five years and ran a cannabis club. Police raided the club before Christmas, but it’s unclear if it relates to his death.
After bringing Brett home, the family had an autopsy done, but it was inconclusive. They are still waiting for further test results.
Sandra believes he was attacked but can’t understand why. Friends say Brett was well-liked and had no enemies.
Spanish police have not commented on the case. A court spokesperson confirmed the investigation is still open and ongoing.
