Blaenavon: So, there’s this water treatment company, right? They want to get the green light to store more hazardous chemicals at their site. It’s called Water Treatment Products LTD, and they’re based at the Gilchrist Thomas Industrial Estate.

They’ve already got permission to keep some of these materials, but now they’re looking to up the amounts. The stuff they want to store includes LPG gas and methanol, which sounds pretty serious.

They’ve also sent over their major accident prevention policy to the local council, which is Torfaen Borough Council. They’re currently mulling over the application.

The company claims they’re growing and need to meet the rising demand from customers. But they’re also aware that this comes with increased risks, and they say they’re committed to keeping their staff and the environment safe.

If anyone wants to weigh in on this, they can check out the application at the company’s site or send their thoughts to the council by January 27. It’s definitely something to keep an eye on!
