Carla Connor’s health scare leads her to make a heartbreaking decision about her relationship with DS Lisa Swain

In the latest episode, Carla was at Roy’s café, and she didn’t look too good. She started hallucinating, which made everyone worry she might be having another psychotic episode. Roy, being the good friend he is, suggested she go home and rest.
But when he checked on her later, she was on the floor, barely conscious. Turns out, she was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with sepsis. With only one kidney, Roy was understandably worried about what this meant for her health.
Later, Carla found out that Lisa didn’t know about her health scare because Roy couldn’t reach her. When he asked if he should tell Lisa, Carla insisted he keep it a secret. She was worried that if Lisa found out, she’d bail on her, just like her last partner did.

Carla confided in Roy that it was better to cut her losses now than wait to be dumped. Meanwhile, viewers saw Lisa trying to reach Carla, clearly worried.
Not wanting to spill the beans about being in the hospital, Carla lied and said she was at the airport heading to Ireland. When Lisa asked how long she’d be gone, Carla said a few days, leaving Lisa completely in the dark.
