Firefighters in Cork City saved a man trapped in a house fire, ensuring his safety and quick medical attention after the incident
Victor Shine, the Second Officer at the Cork City Fire Brigade, shared that they got the call about a fire in Ballinhassig just after 6 p.m. They rushed over to help.
When they arrived, the crew quickly put on their breathing gear and went inside to save the man who was trapped. They managed to control the fire pretty fast, and the guy was treated for smoke inhalation right there.
The house didn’t suffer too much damage, mostly just from the smoke. After getting some care, the man was handed over to the National Ambulance Service. He went to the hospital just to be safe, but he’s expected to be just fine.
It’s been a hectic few days for the Cork City Fire Brigade. They’ve been super busy helping out during the rough weather. Just the other day, they were tackling a big fire in Glanmire, too.
Six units showed up to handle that fire, and they got it under control quickly. Unfortunately, five trucks and a car were lost in that blaze, but the firefighters worked hard into the night to make sure everything was safe again.
