East Midlands Railway customers face a month without seat reservations, causing confusion and frustration among travelers.
Leicester: So, here’s the scoop. East Midlands Railway is having a bit of a meltdown with their seat reservation system. Passengers won’t be able to book seats for a whole month. Yikes!
They said it’s affecting intercity trains between Sheffield and London St Pancras, which also stop at stations in Leicestershire. A spokesperson mentioned they’re on it, trying to figure out what went wrong.
One traveler shared their experience, saying every time the train stopped, a new wave of confused folks hopped on, looking for their reserved seats. It was a bit of a circus, really.
Apparently, there were announcements about the delays, but it didn’t seem to help much. With everyone lugging around big suitcases post-holiday, it made for a crowded and chaotic scene.
The EMR team apologized, saying they know it’s frustrating and they’re working hard to sort it out. They also mentioned that if you booked a seat and don’t want to travel, you can get a refund. If you do travel, just sit wherever you can find a spot.
Oh, and if you need a wheelchair seat, that’s still available through the usual process. So, at least there’s that!
