A stabbing in Pill has left locals shaken, raising concerns about safety and business impacts in the area
Some folks, though, aren’t too surprised. Zahid Ali, who runs a local store, mentioned that these incidents happen way too often. He said, “People don’t want to come to Pill. These things happen all the time.”
Zahid feels this kind of violence really hurts the neighborhood’s reputation. His business took a hit today, too. With the road blocked off, he noticed fewer customers.
Ishrat Amin, who works at a nearby takeaway, was shocked by the whole thing. She’s been there for 37 years and said she’s never seen anything like it outside her shop.
She mentioned that while there’s been fighting and drugs in the past, this was on another level. The police presence made it feel like her shop was closed, and she only had two customers all day.
Kocher Ali, who runs the International Supermarket, echoed the fear in the community. He doesn’t live in Pill but drives in every day. This morning, he found the street closed off, which was unsettling.
It’s a tough situation for everyone, especially after the holidays. The community is hoping for better days ahead.
