Hull: So, here’s the scoop. Calvert Lane is going to be closed for a week next month. It’s all for some gas works that Northern Gas Networks is handling.

They’re swapping out old metal pipes for new plastic ones. This is supposed to keep the gas supply safe and reliable for everyone in Hull. You know, keeping homes warm and all that good stuff.

The closure starts on Saturday, February 15, and runs until Sunday, February 23. There will be signs up to help drivers find their way around, and they’ll try to keep access open where they can.

Oh, and there’s more! Anlaby Road will also see a lane closure from March 17 to April 29. They need to manage traffic to keep everyone safe while the work is going on. The whole project is expected to take about 18 weeks.

Chris Keith from Northern Gas Networks said they’re really sorry for any hassle this might cause. But it’s super important to get this done to keep the gas supply safe for Hull residents.

He reassured everyone that they’ll be working hard to finish the job as quickly and safely as possible. So, hang in there, Hull!
