Claudia Winkleman shares her worries about her career and the future of The Traitors after advising BBC bosses to end the show
London: Claudia Winkleman has opened up about her worries regarding her career. Even though she’s been successful, she can’t shake the feeling that it could all change in an instant. The 52-year-old presenter admitted she sometimes thinks producers might just say, “We’re done with her.”
She mentioned, “I always panic because I’m freelance.” It’s a real concern for her. She reads on TV, and it’s like one day someone could just decide they don’t want her anymore. But she’s also very understanding about it.
Claudia joked that if that day comes, she’d just say, “Byesy bye, night night, thank you, I’ve had a lovely run.” It’s a pretty chill way to look at it, right?
She’s been busy with big shows like Strictly Come Dancing and The Traitors, but she’s also exploring other interests. Writing, a master’s degree, or even an embroidery course are all on her mind, according to the Mirror.
As the new series of The Traitors is about to air, she had a moment of reflection with her husband, Kris Thykier. She recalled wearing red fingerless gloves and a cape while discussing the show’s dark themes, thinking it might be time to move on.
Despite her initial doubts, she was surprised by how much people loved the show, especially some of her idols like Kathy Burke and Russell T Davies. It’s nice to get that kind of recognition!
Interestingly, Claudia even told the BBC bosses not to bring the show back for a second series. She thought they should leave it at one successful run. But they had other plans and decided to go ahead anyway.
The show has racked up awards, including two National Television Awards. As for the new series, Claudia is a bit unsure. She said, “I don’t know if this one will do well,” and she’s careful not to take the success for granted.
