Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris McCausland shares insights about his lively family life with his Brazilian wife and their daughter
London: Chris McCausland just won Strictly Come Dancing 2024 with his partner Dianne Buswell. The blind comedian was super emotional when they were announced as the winners. It was a nail-biting finale!
After the big win, Chris hugged Dianne tightly while the other finalists cheered them on. You can bet he’ll be celebrating with his family, including his Brazilian wife Patricia and their 11-year-old daughter.
Chris and Patricia met back in 2005 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He was performing, and she was filming a documentary. They hit it off and had a blast together when the cameras weren’t rolling.
He describes Patricia as full of energy and someone who brings a bit of “chaos” into their lives. It’s clear they balance each other out—he’s the calming presence, while she keeps things lively.
Patricia moved to the UK when she was just a kid, but Chris says she still has that Brazilian flair. He joked about how even simple chats in Portuguese with her mom can sound dramatic. It’s all in good fun, though!
Chris has been married to Patricia for 12 years, and they have a daughter named Sophie. He admits he was nervous about becoming a dad at first, worried he wouldn’t measure up to his own father.
He also shared some funny stories about their different cultural backgrounds. For instance, while Patricia needs a winter coat in warm weather, Chris struggles in anything above 26 degrees. He joked that one day, they might find one of them lifeless by the thermostat!
