A child tragically lost their life after a sledding accident led to a fall into a frozen lake in North Carolina
It all happened on a Saturday night around 9:15 PM. The family was enjoying some winter fun when one of the kids slid down a hill and couldn’t stop, ending up in the icy water at Stoney Creek Golf Club.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but despite their best efforts, the child succumbed to the cold after being submerged. A neighbor mentioned that the family was just having a good time in the snow.
In a twist of fate, two officers and three good Samaritans who tried to help were also taken to the hospital for treatment. The local sheriff’s office confirmed the tragic news and shared that they were called for a water rescue.
