Chepstow Town Council has decided to contribute to the refurbishment of public toilets on Welsh Street, agreeing to fund 15% of the costs.
Chepstow: So, the town council just made a decision about the public toilets on Welsh Street. They’re going to chip in some cash to help with the renovations.
During a meeting on January 8, 2025, they agreed to cover 15% of the total cost, which is around £75,000. That means they’ll be putting in about £11,250 from their general funds.
Initially, they weren’t too keen on contributing 30% because the toilets are owned by Monmouthshire County Council. But after some back and forth, they settled on this new plan.
It’s good to see the council working together on this. A bunch of councillors were there, including Cllr T Griffiths and O Amphlett, while a few others couldn’t make it.
They had talked about this before in another meeting, and it seems like they’ve finally come to an agreement. It’s nice to see some progress for the community!
