Dublin: This week is busy for holiday bookings. Many Irish travelers are using their January paychecks to plan trips.

Booking a holiday can be tricky. Travel experts have shared tips to help you save money.

On the Beach Ireland revealed some insider secrets. Even seasoned travelers might not know these.

One key tip is about your flight day. Flying from Ireland on a Thursday is usually cheaper. Saturdays tend to be pricier.

Major airlines like Ryanair and Aer Lingus have busy routes. Adjusting your travel dates can lead to better deals.

Zoe Harris from On the Beach said, “Try different departure days. Last year, Thursdays were cheaper. It might change this year, but check if you can be flexible.”

Another tip is to book for eight nights. It can be cheaper than booking for six or seven nights.

For example, last summer, eight-night stays averaged €320 per night. Six-night stays were €360 per night. That’s a €40 saving per person just by adding a night.

In September, six-night stays were better than seven. Six nights averaged €329, while seven nights were €398.

For instance, a seven-night stay at Sol Tenerife costs €810 per person. An eight-night stay is only €794.50. That’s €15 less!

Zoe added, “When booking, don’t just pick seven nights. Try different lengths. You might find a great deal for a little extra time away.”

On The Beach started in Ireland in 2024. They offer many European beach holidays from various airports.
