A Pembrokeshire charity is calling on people to make resolutions that support their community this new year
Pembrokeshire: A local charity is reaching out to folks to kick off the new year by lending a hand. Paul Sartori Hospice at Home wants everyone to think about making their resolutions count by supporting their cause.
This charity is all about providing end-of-life care to people in Pembrokeshire. They’re asking for donations, fundraising, or even volunteering to keep their important work going.
Joanne Lutwyche, the new community relationship officer, is all set to help anyone who wants to turn their resolutions into fundraising ideas. She believes starting the year by giving back is super rewarding.
Joanne mentioned, “We’re here to support anyone who wants to fundraise for Paul Sartori Hospice at Home, no matter how big or small their idea may be.”
One inspiring story comes from Ed and Karin Morris. They hiked the entire Pembrokeshire Coast Path in memory of Ed’s father, who received support from the charity before he passed away.
The couple completed their 186-mile trek in August 2024, and their journey was shared on the Facebook page Hike for Paul Sartori. It wasn’t easy, though; they faced challenges, including covid, and even traveled from Sydney, Australia, to finish their fundraising challenge.
Ed shared, “300km of hiking, 18 days, 7 rainstorms, 5 blisters, 4 seal sightings, 2 river crossings, and 1 broken walking stick were worth it.” Their hard work paid off, raising nearly £4,000 for the charity.
This shows how personal resolutions can really make a difference for families in need in Pembrokeshire. Their story highlights the impact of individual efforts on the community.
If anyone is looking for ideas or guidance on how to turn their new year’s goals into meaningful support for Paul Sartori Hospice at Home, Joanne is ready to help.
