Aldershot police have released a CCTV image as they investigate a suspected arson that caused significant damage to a commercial property
Aldershot: So, there’s been a suspected arson attack, and it’s pretty serious. The police just released a CCTV image while they dig deeper into what happened. This all went down at a commercial property on Eastern Road, and it started around 12:37 AM on New Year’s Day.
Fire crews were on the scene, and the police had to close off some roads while they worked to put out the fire. Thankfully, no one got hurt, but the damage was extensive. One unit got wrecked, and four cars parked outside didn’t fare well either.
After checking out the scene, the police are treating this as arson. They’re really keen to talk to the guy in the CCTV image. If anyone recognizes him, they want to hear from you.
Detective Constable Andy Robinson mentioned that this fire caused a lot of damage and disrupted the local community. They’re hoping to identify the man in the footage since he was around when the fire started.
Even though the image isn’t the best quality, they’re asking anyone with info to reach out. If you were driving in the area and have dashcam footage, or if you live nearby and have doorbell or CCTV footage, they’d love to see it.
