CATCH is set to expand its Stallingborough site with a new renewable energy training centre, enhancing local industry skills and opportunities.
Stallingborough: CATCH is making some exciting moves! They’re planning to expand their training facility, which is great news for the local community.
This not-for-profit organization has been around since 2006, helping folks in the energy and engineering sectors. Last year, they opened a Skills and Apprenticeships Centre, and now they’re ready to take it up a notch.
They’ve just filed a planning application for a two-storey extension to their conference centre and a brand-new renewable energy training centre. Currently, they have 74 full-time staff, and they expect to add six more with this expansion.
The new training centre will feature four workshops and classrooms, plus a common room. It’s designed to accommodate 15-20 people in the workshops and 20-25 in the classrooms. Sounds like a great place to learn!
As for the conference centre, they’re switching the entrance to the northern side. The extension will include a large space for events, holding up to 120 people, along with smaller conference rooms.
They’ve already reached out to neighbors about these plans, which is nice. CATCH aims to create a £60 million national net zero centre by 2029, training 1,000 new industry entrants each year. That’s a big goal!
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development in Grimsby!
