A carer faces serious consequences after a drunken punch left a pub-goer injured and bleeding on the floor
Cwmavon: So, there was this wild incident at a pub where a carer named Glenn Morgan threw a punch that knocked a guy out cold. It was pretty intense, and the poor guy ended up bleeding on the floor. Other patrons had to jump in and hold Morgan back while he was shouting threats. Not cool at all!
The court found out that Morgan had been drinking heavily all day before this happened. He was acting loud and rude in several pubs around Port Talbot. When he finally got to the Red Lion pub, folks at the table told him to take a hike because he was causing trouble. But instead of leaving, he just punched the guy next to him right in the head. Ouch!
The victim hit the floor hard and was knocked out. While he lay there, bleeding, Morgan was still being aggressive until the police showed up. Then he suddenly turned calm, which is a bit strange, right? The injured guy ended up in the hospital with some serious injuries, including a nasty bump on his head.
In court, the victim shared how the whole thing messed him up emotionally. He said he can’t even think about it without getting upset. He’s been having nightmares and feels anxious when he’s around people now. It’s really sad how one night out can change everything for someone.
As for Morgan, he’s got a history of trouble, including a previous battery charge. His lawyer said he’s really sorry for what he did and has stopped drinking since the incident. The judge acknowledged that while Morgan deserved to be punished, he also saw a chance for him to turn things around. So, he got a suspended sentence and has to stick to some rehab and alcohol monitoring for a while.
It’s a tough lesson for everyone involved, and it just goes to show how quickly a fun night can turn into a nightmare.
