Cardiff City struggled against Oxford United, with poor performances and costly mistakes leading to another disappointing result
Jak Alnwick had a rough time, letting in three goals. He did manage to save a couple of long shots, but it wasn’t enough. Andy Rinomhota was okay on the right side, but he didn’t really shine.
Dimitrios Goutas did alright keeping Mark Harris quiet, but he lost him for the first goal. Calum Chambers and Joel Bagan also struggled, with Bagan not delivering good crosses.
Callum O’Dowda’s return was a plus, sending in some decent balls, but Cardiff just couldn’t capitalize. Manolis Siopis worked hard in the middle but was limited with the ball.
Alex Robertson had a quiet game, and Rubin Colwill couldn’t break through Oxford’s defense. Yakou Meite fought hard but had no support. Chris Willock started strong but faded, losing track of his man before the second goal.
The substitutes had mixed results. Callum Robinson made a decent impact, while Ronan Kpakio got an assist. Anwar El Ghazi didn’t impress, pulling out of a challenge he should have taken. Cian Ashford, however, was the star, scoring a nice goal.
Overall, it was a tough day for Cardiff, and they really need to step up in their next match.
