Cardiff City is set to recall Joel Colwill from his loan at Cheltenham Town as interest from other clubs grows
Cheltenham’s manager, Michael Flynn, was hoping to keep him until the season ends. But Cardiff’s manager, Omer Riza, thinks it’s time for Colwill to step up and play at a higher level.
Riza mentioned that there’s interest from League One clubs, which could be a great opportunity for Colwill to learn and grow. He’s not going to be in Cheltenham’s squad for their next match, so it sounds like a recall is just around the corner.
When asked about other clubs interested in him, Riza confirmed that Bristol Rovers and Exeter City are keen. However, Rovers seem to have shifted their focus since their new manager took over.
Now, Exeter City looks like the most likely next stop for Colwill. It’s all pretty exciting, and it’ll be interesting to see where he ends up next!
