A busy road in Cambridge will be closed for six weeks starting January 13 for essential roadworks
Cambridge: So, there’s going to be a big road closure in Cambridge starting January 13. Coldhams Lane will be shut for about six weeks, from Nuttings Road to Kings Meadow.
This closure is all about laying new cables in some ducting that’s already there. It’s set to wrap up by February 23, so mark your calendars!
Don’t worry too much about getting around, though. There will be diversions for both directions. If you’re heading west, you’ll go through High Street and a few other roads. Eastbound traffic will follow the same route but in reverse.
UK Power Networks assures everyone that the electricity supply won’t be affected, and access to homes and businesses will stay open. They’ve planned this to keep disruptions to a minimum.
A spokesperson mentioned the closure is necessary for the cable work. So, it’s all for a good cause, right?
