Laura Main hints at a thrilling two-part Christmas special for fans
London: So, guess what? Laura Main, who plays Nurse Shelagh Turner on Call The Midwife, just spilled some beans about the upcoming Christmas specials. She was on BBC Breakfast and couldn’t help but tease a bit.
This year, we’re in for a treat with a double Christmas special! Instead of the usual long episode, we’ll get two shorter ones, one on Christmas Day and another on Boxing Day. How cool is that?
Set in 1969, the story brings a funfair to Poplar, but it’s not all fun and games. There’s also a nasty flu going around, and an escaped prisoner adds to the drama. Sounds intense, right?
Laura mentioned that there’s a beloved character involved in the Christmas magic, and she hinted at some carol singing too. It’s going to be a festive ride for sure!
After these specials, we can look forward to a new series in early 2025. Heidi Thomas, the creator, is super excited about the two-part special, saying it’s like finding an unexpected gift under the tree.
So, mark your calendars! The first part airs on Christmas Day, and you won’t want to miss it!
