A vulnerable man was injured when a burglar broke into his home in Redcar
Redcar: A shocking incident unfolded when a burglar forced her way into a friend’s home, leaving him injured. Marianne Allinson, 43, and two accomplices showed up at the man’s door late one evening, banging aggressively.
When he answered, Allinson pushed past him, causing him to fall and hit his head. As he lay there bleeding, he tried to call the police, but she snatched his phone away. Meanwhile, the other two women rummaged through his place and stole a small amount of change.
Allinson, who had known the victim for over 20 years, later pleaded guilty to burglary. The court heard how the victim felt anxious and betrayed after the attack. He had considered Allinson a friend, but that trust was shattered.
During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Allinson initially denied the charges, claiming she was there for a legitimate reason. However, she eventually admitted to the crime. Her defense argued that she had intended to ask for money, but the judge wasn’t having it.
He pointed out that Allinson and her accomplices targeted a vulnerable person and left him injured and shaken. In the end, she was sentenced to 22 months in prison, a stark reminder of the consequences of such actions.
