A British man has been sentenced for paying mothers to livestream child abuse
Peterborough: A disturbing case has come to light involving a man named Peter Swan. This 62-year-old was caught paying women in the Philippines to livestream the abuse of their children. It’s just sickening.
Between 2015 and 2023, he used social media and dating apps to connect with these women. He offered them money in exchange for videos or live streams of their kids being exploited. Can you believe that?
Swan got busted when he uploaded an indecent image online, which led the police to search his home in February 2023. They found laptops and a phone packed with nearly 3,000 indecent images. Just awful.
After being interviewed and released on bail, he was arrested again in November 2023 when more of his Skype messages came to light. Even then, he kept looking at indecent images and using apps to pay for more abuse. It’s like he didn’t learn his lesson.
On December 18, Swan was sentenced to 16 years in prison at Peterborough Crown Court. The judge, Sean Enright, said this was a serious case of exploitation against vulnerable children in a third-world country.
PC Alex Cochrane from the local police said Swan’s actions were shameful and that protecting vulnerable people is a top priority. He emphasized that children are safer now that Swan is behind bars.
Swan pleaded guilty to multiple counts of arranging the sexual exploitation of children and making indecent images. The judge made it clear that each child involved was a separate tragedy, which is why the sentences were consecutive.
