Bristol Rovers and Exeter City are eyeing Cardiff City’s Joel Colwill for a loan move as he seeks to gain valuable experience
Cardiff: So, it looks like Bristol Rovers and Exeter City are both keen on bringing in Joel Colwill from Cardiff City on loan. The word is from Omer Riza, the Bluebirds’ manager.
Colwill has been doing great on loan at Cheltenham Town, scoring nine goals and assisting three times in 28 games. Cheltenham’s boss, Michael Flynn, really wants to keep him around for the rest of the season.
But Riza thinks it’s time for Colwill to step up and challenge himself at a higher level. He mentioned that there’s interest from League One clubs, which could be a fantastic opportunity for the young midfielder.
When asked about the clubs interested, Riza confirmed that both Bristol Rovers and Exeter are in the mix, while Bolton is looking at other options. It sounds like there are quite a few clubs wanting him!
Riza shared his own experience, saying that going out on loan to different leagues really helps players grow. He believes that being out of your comfort zone is key to improvement.
However, it’s not a done deal yet. Colwill might stay at Cheltenham or head out to another club before the transfer window closes.
On the flip side, Eli King, another Cardiff player, hasn’t had it as easy. He’s been on loan at Stevenage but has barely played. Riza thinks this tough experience will help him grow, even if it’s been a rough patch.
In the end, it’s all about getting the right experience and learning from these challenges. Let’s see how it all unfolds!
