A 15-year-old boy has died after a stabbing at a Sheffield school, with another teen arrested.
Sheffield: A 15-year-old boy has died after being stabbed at school. This happened at All Saints Catholic High School in South Yorkshire. The police reported a “serious incident” earlier today. Parents were informed that students would be released when police allowed it.
The stabbing occurred around 12:17 PM. Another teenage boy has been detained by the police. Sadly, the victim died shortly after the incident.
South Yorkshire Police Assistant Chief Constable Lindsey Butterfield spoke outside the police headquarters. She expressed sadness over the teenager’s death following the stabbing at the school.
The school was put on lockdown. Emergency services arrived quickly at All Saints Catholic High School on Granville Road. Despite the ambulance service’s efforts, the 15-year-old boy suffered serious injuries and died soon after.
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
Butterfield reassured the community that officers would stay on the scene. They aim to provide support to parents, staff, and local residents during this difficult time.
She urged anyone with information to come forward. This incident marks the second lockdown at All Saints in less than a week. Earlier, students were released in groups around 2:50 PM.
On January 29, the school had a “stay put” order due to threats of violence among a few students. Fortunately, no injuries were reported then.
An anonymous parent expressed concern about the recent events. They hope for a peaceful resolution and believe the school will face serious questions in the coming days.
