A 12-year-old boy was arrested at Chase Terrace Academy for allegedly threatening a student, prompting a school lockdown on Tuesday.
The incident occurred around noon on Tuesday, February 4th. The school reported a problem and that someone refused to leave. Staff put the school in lockdown and called Staffordshire Police for help. Police said they came because of a disturbance and arrested a 12-year-old boy.
The boy allegedly made threats to another student. Police arrested him for suspicion of affray. Thankfully, no one suffered injuries during the incident.
Police got the call just before noon. It concerned a disturbance on Bridge Cross Road where a school reported threats between students. Luckily, no one got hurt during this event. The police arrested a 12-year-old boy and he’s in custody while they investigate. They are still asking questions about it now.
The headteacher, Nicola Mason, wrote to the parents about what happened, saying an ex-student wouldn’t leave the main reception area. They locked down the school to keep children safe in their classes as the situation remained only in the reception area. Police quickly took the ex-student away from the building.
Mason said they prevented risk. Keeping the children safe was most important and she thanked everyone for understanding the situation.
