Paul Cahoon, a former cage fighter, is sentenced to over nine years for drug trafficking after nearly a decade on the run in Dubai
He thought he could escape the consequences, but now he’s looking at a hefty nine years and three months behind bars. The guy was living it up in Dubai while his crew was getting busted back home. It all started when police seized a bunch of drugs worth around £83,000, and that’s when he decided to skip town.
Cahoon was extradited back to the UK last summer after spending 374 days in custody in the Middle East. He finally admitted to conspiracy charges for supplying cocaine and amphetamines. His lawyer tried to argue that he was just a good guy who left for a job at a gym, but the judge wasn’t buying it.
The prosecution painted him as a key player, saying he was the one connecting people and organizing drug deals. They even mentioned how he was smart enough to change his phone numbers to avoid getting caught. But in the end, it didn’t matter. The law caught up with him, and now he’s facing the music he tried so hard to avoid.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Worthington said this case shows their commitment to tackling drug crime. They won’t stop until everyone involved is brought to justice. So, it looks like “Boom Boom” is going to have a lot of time to think about his choices behind bars.
