A Birmingham cyclist tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run, leaving family and friends heartbroken as they remember his kindness and joy.
Birmingham: It’s such a sad story. A young cyclist named Donnell, or Dee as his friends called him, was hit by a car in a hit-and-run. His loved ones are heartbroken, remembering him as the happiest and kindest guy around.
He was just in his 20s and was riding home from work when the accident happened on Brandwood Park Road. It was late on a Friday night, and he was rushed to the hospital but sadly passed away three days later.
Police reported that a silver BMW didn’t stop after the crash. They later arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Now, there’s a crowdfunding page set up to help with Donnell’s funeral costs, aiming for £8,000.
A friend named Chloe shared on the GoFundMe page how much Donnell was loved. She wrote about how he fought hard after the accident but ultimately succumbed to his injuries. He leaves behind his family, including a young son he adored.
Chloe thanked everyone for their support and said any donations would really help during this tough time. She ended with a touching message, saying Donnell will always be remembered as a bright star in the sky. It’s just heartbreaking to see such a kind soul taken too soon.
