Reece Galbraith denies manslaughter charges linked to the tragic explosion in Benwell

The explosion happened on October 16 at Violet Close, and during his court appearance at Newcastle Crown Court, Galbraith pleaded not guilty to two counts of manslaughter. He also denied charges related to cannabis production and supply.
Galbraith, who’s 33 and from Gateshead, appeared via video link from prison. The judge set a trial date for May 12, which is expected to last about a week. He’s still in custody for now.
The judge reminded him that if he has any defense to present, he should do it sooner rather than later. It’s a tough spot to be in, and the judge made it clear that coming clean could help him in the long run.
