Kidzeco in Bathgate will shut its doors on January 31 after failing to secure a new lease
Bathgate: A cherished shop in West Lothian, Kidzeco, is closing down. It’s been a go-to place for families looking for preloved items. The last day of trading will be January 31.
Sadly, they couldn’t work out a new lease with the landlord. But don’t worry, the Livingston store will still be open and running as usual. Locals are really feeling the loss, saying the shop was a key part of the community.
On Facebook, the team shared their regret about the closure. They’ve been a staple in Bathgate for nearly 15 years. It’s tough to say goodbye, especially since so many families have relied on them for support.
They mentioned that all classes will continue until the closing date, but they won’t be able to accept donations anymore. It’s a real blow for the families who have enjoyed the services and community spirit.
They’re still hopeful about finding a new place to continue their mission. The team expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been part of their journey, from staff to families who’ve supported them.
One local shared their heartbreak, saying how much they loved visiting the shop with their kids. Another chimed in, recalling how their little one enjoyed playing there and finding great toys.
Last summer, the Bathgate location faced some tough times with vandalism, which made things even harder for the staff. It’s been a challenging road, but the community’s support has been incredible.
