Leeds: A heartbreaking incident unfolded when Jamie Meah, just 18, was dragged from a taxi and fatally stabbed. It’s been described as a brutal attack by a rival drugs gang.
On March 31, 2023, Jamie was targeted by four men who fled the scene. Ranei Wilks, one of the suspects, was later arrested at the airport after returning from Turkey.
In court, it was revealed that Jamie and another man, Kayne Priestley, were involved in a drug dispute. They had taken a taxi to Hall Lane, where things turned deadly.
Witnesses saw the attack unfold, with Jamie and Kayne being pulled from the taxi. It was reported that at least one attacker was armed with a weapon, possibly a machete.
Jamie suffered multiple stab wounds, including a severe injury that caused massive blood loss. Despite trying to get help, he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The police found the getaway car abandoned days later, and the suspects had fled to different locations. While Ranei is on trial, the other three men remain at large.
