A devoted fan of BBC’s The Traitors expresses disappointment over the new season’s early eliminations of standout contestants
London: There’s nothing quite like The Traitors on reality TV right now. Seriously, it’s a wild ride! If Shakespeare were around, he’d be glued to it.
The last series had all the drama of a Shakespearean play, ending with a finale that fans still talk about. Remember when Harry, the Traitor, faced off against his friend Mollie? It was nail-biting!
In a last-minute twist, Mollie almost banished Harry but changed her mind. She ended up trusting him, and he snagged the whole prize pot. Talk about a plot twist!
Now, the new season is here, and everyone’s ready for the usual chaos. Claudia Winkleman, the host, is a star in her own right. She’s got that pantomime villain vibe going on, and her outfits? I’m always on the hunt for her red leather gloves!
But here’s the kicker: I’ve got a big issue with this season. Right off the bat, they kicked out three contestants! Can you believe it? The ones who were the most fun to watch were gone before we even got to know them.
Jack, Fozia, and Alexander were all sent packing way too soon. It felt like we were robbed of some great entertainment. They didn’t even get a chance to shine!
Sure, The Traitors is all about surprises, but this felt like a major misstep. In past seasons, we’ve seen shocking eliminations, but three at once? That was just harsh.
Then there’s Yin, a communications doctor who was the first to be “murdered” this season. She was super interesting, but her analytical skills made her a target right away. It’s a shame!
As the show goes on, people will get eliminated, but why cast such vibrant characters if they’re just going to be cut early? Maybe that’s part of the thrill?
The Traitors airs tonight at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
