London: BBC bosses have made it clear to Claudia Winkleman that she should not get involved in the game while filming The Traitors. This comes as the show gears up for its exciting third season, which kicks off on New Year’s Day.
The new season is set to bring even more drama, with contestants diving into a game full of strategy and deception, all competing for a cash prize that could hit £120,000.
In the last season finale, Harry Clark played his cards right and outsmarted everyone to take home a whopping £95,000, which had viewers glued to their screens.
Claudia has really charmed the audience with her humor and strong presence on the show. She’s been praised for how she handles the challenges and keeps a tight lid on things during those intense round table moments.
However, Sarah Fay, the executive producer, has made it clear that Claudia needs to stay out of the gameplay while the cameras are rolling. She mentioned in an interview that Claudia is so well-briefed on this that she might even be a bit nervous around the contestants.
Fay explained that they want to keep the focus on the game itself, especially since there’s a lot of money on the line. They set the stage and let the players do their thing.
Claudia’s role is to host, and she’s not allowed to step in, no matter what happens. Fay noted that this approach often leads to the best TV moments, as viewers get to see real emotions unfold.
The Traitors, which is based on a Dutch format, has Claudia selecting a few players as traitors while the rest try to figure out who they are to win the prize money.
