Bangor: A takeaway in Gwynedd just got some good news. The New Bangor Grill Limited won’t need to hire security staff right now. They do have to keep an incidents record, though. The local licensing committee approved their premises license near the Deiniol Centre.

North Wales Police suggested that hiring door staff might be a good idea. But the committee decided to let the takeaway operate without that requirement for now. They can sell hot food and drinks for takeout, delivery, and even have a few dine-in seats.

The applicant promised to make some upgrades to the kitchen. They also shared plans to keep the place safe and secure. This includes training staff and using standard operating policies to prevent crime and disorder.

To help with safety, they’ll use CCTV and provide first aid and fire safety training. The council was happy with the application, saying it met all the necessary licensing rules.

Police noted there wasn’t any crime linked to the site that would stop the license. However, they still thought it might be wise to consider security staff in the future.

The committee encouraged the takeaway to keep a risk assessment and incident records. This way, they can think about hiring door staff later if needed.

A spokesperson from Cyngor Gwynedd mentioned that if any issues come up, the licensing can be reviewed. So, they’re keeping an eye on things.
