Pembrokeshire: A fantastic film is about to hit the big screen! “Comrade Tambo’s London Recruits,” a docu-drama by local director Gordon Main, is premiering at the Palace Cinema in Haverfordwest.

This film dives into the brave stories of young volunteers from the UK who worked undercover in apartheid South Africa during the 60s and 70s. It’s a mix of re-enactments, interviews, and real footage that brings history to life.

Parts of the movie were shot right here in Pembrokeshire, including scenes in Roch and Haverfordwest. The old post office in Haverfordwest was transformed into various sets, like a London pub and secret training rooms. How cool is that?

The film has already racked up some impressive awards, including Best Documentary at the Joburg Film Festival. It’s even been endorsed by former South African president Thabo Mbeki, who found it moving.

Mark your calendars for January 16 at 7:30 PM! Gordon Main is excited to share this special moment, especially since he filmed many scenes locally. After the screening, there’ll be a Q&A with two former London recruits featured in the film.

If you want to catch this premiere, grab your tickets online. And hey, there’s a chance to win a pair of tickets too! Just answer a simple question about the film’s endorsement.
