The beloved Honeycomb & Co in Edinburgh will close its doors soon as the owner retires, but staff will be retained under new management
Edinburgh: It’s a bit of a bummer, but the owner of Honeycomb & Co has announced that the cafe and restaurant will be closing soon. Ian D’Annunzio-Green, who started this place back in 2017, is ready to retire from the hospitality scene.
The good news? The cafe will be taken over by Peter and Steph Borgen-Nielsen, who run the Pantry Edinburgh and a couple of Hula Juice Bar spots. So, it’s not the end of the line for this beloved eatery.
Ian has assured everyone that all the staff will keep their jobs under the new ownership, which is a relief. Honeycomb & Co will stay open until January 19, and they’re even bringing back some fan-favorite dishes for one last hurrah.
Ian expressed pride in what he and his team have built over the years, saying they’ve created a loyal community and supported local businesses. He’s grateful for the journey, especially after navigating through the tough times during the pandemic.
He’s excited to see the place continue as Pantry Edinburgh, with Peter and Steph at the helm. They’ve got loads of experience, and Ian believes they’ll keep the spirit of Honeycomb alive.
Steph Nielsen from Hula Group shared her excitement about taking over such a cherished spot. She’s looking forward to welcoming back the loyal customers and keeping that warm, vibrant atmosphere that everyone loves.
