Avon Fire and Rescue Service invites feedback to improve its services and assess community needs for the upcoming years
Avon: The Avon Fire and Rescue Service is reaching out to everyone in the community. They want to hear from residents, businesses, and stakeholders about their Service Plan for 2024-2028. It’s all about figuring out how much people are willing to pay for fire and rescue services.
Your feedback is super important! It’ll help them see how they’re doing, manage risks, and ensure they’re providing good value for money. Plus, they want to make sure it’s a great place for their staff to work.
According to a press release, the Service Plan focuses on improving community safety. They’re looking at fire prevention, reducing risks, and emergency responses. They also want to tackle new risks and find ways to prevent incidents before they happen.
Simon Shilton, the chief fire officer, emphasized that their main goal is to keep communities safe. They do this through education, protecting homes and workplaces, and responding to fires when they occur.
Shilton mentioned that they’re one year into their four-year plan and really want to know what the community thinks about their progress. It’s crucial for everyone to participate in the survey and make their voices heard.
He also pointed out that, like many public services, they’re facing financial challenges. But the safety of the community is their top priority, and they’re committed to making the best use of every pound they receive.
The survey is a chance for residents to influence how services will be shaped over the next four years. You can share your thoughts on spending, resource allocation, emergency response strategies, and community engagement.
Ben Nutland, chair of the Avon Fire Authority, stressed the importance of community input. He encouraged anyone with ideas on improving services or managing financial challenges to share their opinions.
Nutland added that the Authority’s job is to tackle the challenges the Service faces while ensuring it meets local expectations. They can only do this by listening to the community.
People are encouraged to fill out the short online survey, which closes on February 7. If you need it in a different format, you can call 07977 467634 or email consultation@avonfire.gov.uk.
