Bristol: Today, a group of protestors took over the Aviva Centre. They’re speaking out against the military actions happening in Gaza. The protest kicked off bright and early at 7:30 AM.

One activist climbed up on the building’s overhang, while another spray-painted messages on the glass front. They wrote things like ‘Pal Action’ and ‘Elbit Out’. Elbit Systems is a major player in military tech in Israel.

The group, Palestine Action, claims that Aviva provides insurance for a drone engine factory owned by Elbit. They’re not happy about it and want to raise awareness.

They pointed out that even though Aviva might not hold direct shares in Elbit anymore, they still insure a factory that makes drone engines. These drones are reportedly used in military operations.

Palestine Action is also targeting Allianz, saying they provide insurance for other Elbit subsidiaries in the UK. They’ve been active, hitting up multiple Allianz offices overnight.

A spokesperson for Palestine Action made it clear: “Without insurance, Elbit couldn’t operate in Britain. We’ll keep pushing back against companies like Aviva as long as they support actions that harm Palestine.”
