A driver got arrested in Cornwall after a roadside drug test came back positive. The police stopped the person while they drove on the A389 near Bodmin.

The police discovered more issues. The driver had no insurance, and the vehicle’s MOT and road tax were also expired. Two tires showed exposed cords. The police shared this news on social media.

The driver failed a cannabis drug test. Because of these multiple offenses, police arrested the individual and seized the vehicle on the spot.

The police use #NoExcuse to highlight such incidents and target the “Fatal Five” offenses regularly, which are the top five causes of severe road accidents.

Speeding and driving under the influence make roads very dangerous. Careless driving can also cause harm, and using your phone while driving distracts you. Not wearing a seatbelt also isn’t safe.

Devon and Cornwall Police share driving offense news. The force noted driver excuses online, also sharing that people cause 98% of crashes, while only 2% involve vehicle problems.

Police Commander Jim Gale spoke about road safety, saying there are no excuses for risky driving. The police aim to safeguard roads in the region and target those who break the law.

Commander Gale linked the Fatal Five risks to serious road injuries, warning against these dangerous behaviors that endanger drivers, passengers, and others.
