A councillor is pressing Asda for a reopening date after a fire damaged their Llandudno Junction store last December
Llandudno Junction: A local councillor is asking Asda to provide a timeline for reopening their store, which was damaged by a fire last December. The fire broke out early on December 17, causing significant damage.
Fire crews rushed to the scene, but thankfully, no one was inside. Still, the damage was extensive, leaving the store in bad shape.
More than three weeks later, an Asda spokesperson mentioned they’re working hard to reopen the store. They promised to keep the community updated. Meanwhile, the staff at the nearby Llandudno Superstore are ready to help customers.
Cllr Mike Priestley is pushing for a clearer timeline. He recently checked the store and described it as “basically gutted.” Residents are eager to know when they can shop there again.
He pointed out that some customers have to travel to other stores, which isn’t easy for everyone, especially those without cars. While he’s relieved no one was hurt, he acknowledged the inconvenience of losing the Asda store.
He added that while they don’t expect an exact date, a rough estimate would be really helpful for everyone affected.
