Early morning raids in Cork City led to multiple arrests and weapon seizures amid ongoing gang tensions on the northside
The operation was pretty significant, with the Armed Support Unit backing the Gardai. They raided several properties in response to a series of troubling incidents that have rattled the local community lately.
During these raids, they managed to seize a number of weapons and arrest several individuals. A Garda spokesperson mentioned that this was part of an ongoing investigation into violent incidents that happened earlier this month.
They searched four homes in the area and found a large stash of weapons. Five men, all in their late teens to twenties, were arrested and taken to local Garda stations.
One of them has already been charged and is set to appear in Cork District Court later today. It’s a tense situation, but the Gardai are on it, trying to keep the peace in the community.
