A suspect has been arrested as authorities investigate a fire in West Hollywood Hills, suspected to be arson.
West Hollywood: So, there’s been a bit of drama in the hills. A guy got arrested because of a fire that’s being looked at as arson. It all kicked off when the LAPD got a call about someone trying to start a fire on Ybarra Road around 4:30 PM on Thursday.
Some locals saw the guy and jumped in to help the police catch him. Pretty brave, right? The cops haven’t shared who he is yet, and they’re still figuring out if he’s linked to the other fires in the area. But they’re definitely treating the Kenneth Fire as suspicious.
This fire started around 2 PM in a dry area near the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space. It spread fast, burning over 600 acres by 6 PM. That’s a lot of land!
As for the investigation, the Los Angeles District Attorney, Nathan Hochman, said if it turns out to be arson, they’ll go after the maximum punishment. He’s not messing around with this one.
