A significant development in the search for John George as an arrest follows the discovery of his remains in Spain
Belfast: So, there’s been a big update in the case of John George. Spanish police have arrested someone after they found his body on the Costa Blanca. It’s been a tough time for his family, and they finally got some answers.
John’s dad, Billy, got a call from the Spanish detectives around 5 PM today. They told him that John’s remains were in a morgue, waiting to be identified. It’s a mix of emotions for the family—distressed but also relieved that the search is over.
John, who was 37, went missing after a trip to Alicante back in December. He hadn’t been in touch since December 14 and didn’t make his flight home. His family was worried sick and even thought he might have been murdered.
They really rallied together, with his brother Darren and other family members heading to Spain to help search. They had a lot of support from friends and family back home in Northern Ireland, which kept their spirits up.
Just recently, a volunteer search team with dogs joined the effort. They covered a lot of ground, but it was frustrating for the family not getting any answers. Darren expressed how angry they were, feeling like someone must know where John was.
Now that they’ve found him, they’re hoping for some closure. It’s been a long and painful journey, but they’re determined to get John back home. They just want to bring him back and say goodbye properly.
