Armed police rushed to Chelmsford after a report of a suspicious object, ensuring public safety while investigating the incident
Chelmsford: Late last night, armed police were spotted in Chelmsford. It all started when someone thought they saw a shiny object that looked like a weapon. A woman called the cops, worried about what she saw.
The police took it seriously and sent a unit right away. Even though they didn’t find any weapons, they’re still looking into it to keep everyone safe. Residents saw a bunch of police cars zooming down New London Road as the officers arrived.
An Essex Police spokesperson said they got the call just before 9 PM about someone dropping something suspicious in an underpass near Moulsham Street. They had to check it out since the caller thought it might be dangerous.
Officers talked to several people and searched the area thoroughly. Luckily, nothing was found, but they’re not done investigating just yet. They want to make sure the community feels secure.
