Armed police were deployed in Huddersfield after a man was seen with a knife and baton, leading to a swift response in the area.
Huddersfield: So, there was quite a scene in Huddersfield last night. Armed police showed up after reports of a guy trying to break into a house with a knife and a baton. Yikes!
People in the area said they saw police dogs and even a helicopter buzzing around. They really sealed off the entrances to the estate on Willwood Avenue. It’s a pretty busy spot, running between Reinwood Road and Oakes Road South, right near Reinwood Junior School.
Eventually, they caught a 30-year-old man in Deighton. He’s facing some serious charges, including assault and having an offensive weapon. The police got the call just after 8 PM about the guy banging on a door, and they acted fast.
According to the police, he was trying to get into a house while holding those weapons. They sent armed officers right away and searched the area thoroughly.
Now, this guy is in custody, and the investigation is still ongoing. If anyone saw what happened or has info, they’re encouraged to reach out to West Yorkshire police.
