Huddersfield: Locals are really upset. Someone dumped rubbish near a popular beauty spot. It’s right beside a wall close to Digley Reservoir.

West Yorkshire Police shared a photo of the mess. It’s about two miles from Holmfirth, a favorite place for hiking, cycling, and dog walking. The reservoir is in the Peak District National Park.

The rubbish included cardboard, a black bin bag, and some wheel trims. It was left near a public footpath, making it even more frustrating for visitors.

The police said they reported the fly-tipping to Kirklees Council. They reminded everyone to dispose of rubbish properly. Fly-tipping is illegal, and people should report it on the council’s website.

Many people commented on social media about the issue. One woman shared her experience reporting fly-tipping in Dewsbury. She mentioned it took weeks for action, and the rubbish ended up being set on fire.

To report fly-tipping, residents can use an online form on the Kirklees Council website. They are currently busy but will prioritize cases that pose health risks or block roads.

If the rubbish is on private land, the landowner must take care of it.
